Rules for submission of images for appraisals and competitions
Appraisal by Johnnie Rogers on 10th June
- Members may submit a maximum of 3 jpeg images.
- Images may be in any format but must be of a large resolution (no reduction in size is required).
- This is an Open subject appraisal.
- The title of the image must be used for the file name
- Submissions must be made by 20th May. See the Themes Page for the Dropbox link.
The Brian Evans Memorial Trophy on 22nd July
- Members may submit a single digital image.
- The image must be a jpeg straight from the camera.
- No processing is allowed. The image must not be cropped or reduced in size. Resizing will be done before posting to the web.
- In camera filters should not be used. Members may use a polarising filter but no others.
- Closing date for entries is midnight on 5th July 2026. See the Themes Page for the Dropbox link.
- Entries will be posted to a Google folder for review and scoring by members
- Scoring will be online and must be completed by 18th July 2026
- There will be one winner. All other entries will be runners up.
- In the event of a tie the Chair’s vote will be taken into account.
The Chalice Challenge on 11th November
- This competition is for mounted prints.
- Prints can be in any format, but maximum size is A3.
- The maximum mount size is 50cm x 40cm.
- Prints may be produced commercially.
- Members may submit up to 3 prints.
- Prints should not be submitted in sleeves or envelopes.
- Entries must be submitted by 14th October 2026.
- The prints will be appraised. Marks will not be given but the judge will award commendations e.g. - commended, highly commended, bronze, silver, and gold.
